ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(19)H(20)N(2)O(6), the azomethine [C=N = 1.269?(2)?Å] double bond adopts an E conformation and the dihedral angle between the planes of the benzene rings is 17.41?(11)°. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N-H?O hydrogen bonds generate R(2) (2)(16) loops. The dimers are connected by C-H?O and C-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming sheets lying parallel to (100).

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title Schiff base compound, C(16)H(15)N(3)O(5), obtained from a condensation reaction of 4-acet-oxy-3-meth-oxy-benzaldehyde and 4-nitro-phenyl-hydrazine, adopts an E geometry with respect to the C=N double bond. The mol-ecule is roughly planar, with the two benzene rings twisted slightly with respect to each other by a dihedral angle of 6.90 (9)°. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link centrosymmetrically related pairs of mol-ecules, forming dimers of R(2) (2)(22) graph-set motif. The dimers are further connected through slipped π-π inter-actions between symmetry-related benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance of 3.646 (1) Å, offset angle of 15.4°].

Project description:The title compound, C15H16O2, crystallizes with three independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The intra-molecular torsion angle between the aromatic rings of each mol-ecule are -36.4 (3), 41.3 (3) and -37.8 (3)°. In the crystal, the complicated packing of the mol-ecules forms wave-like layers along the b and c axes. The mol-ecules are connected via extensive meth-oxy-phenyl C-H⋯π inter-actions. A weak C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding network also exists between meth-oxy O atoms and aromatic or meth-oxy H atoms.

Project description:In the title compound, C25H26N2O2S2, the central CN2S2 atoms are almost coplanar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0058 Å). One phenyl ring clearly lies to one side of the central plane, while the other is oriented in the plane but splayed. Despite the different relative orientations, the phenyl rings form similar dihedral angles of 64.90 (3) and 70.06 (3)° with the central plane, and 63.28 (4)° with each other. The benzene ring is twisted with respect to the central plane, forming a dihedral angle of 13.17 (7)°. The S2C=N, N-N and N-N=C bond lengths of 1.2919 (19), 1.4037 (17) and 1.2892 (19) Å, respectively, suggest limited conjugation over these atoms; the configuration about the N-N=C bond is E. An intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond is noted. In the crystal, phen-yl-meth-oxy C-H⋯O and phen-yl-phenyl C-H⋯π inter-actions lead to supra-molecular double chains parallel to the b axis. These are connected into a layer via meth-yl-phenyl C-H⋯π inter-actions, and layers stack along the a axis, being connected by weak π-π inter-actions between phenyl rings [inter-centroid distance = 3.9915 (9) Å] so that a three-dimensional architecture ensues.

Project description:In the title compound, C22H32O4, the atoms of the methyl ester group and the alk-oxy O atoms are all coplanar with the central aromatic ring, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.008 Å. Bonds to the methyl-ene and cyclo-hexyl groups are also very close to this plane, so that the mol-ecule is essentially flat, apart from the cyclo-hexyl groups. The mean planes through the cyclo-hexyl groups are tilted by 30.08 (9) and 36.14 (7)° with respect to the central aromatic ring. In the crystal, pairs of mol-ecules linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form planar units which are stacked along the a axis, with an average inter-planar distance of 3.549 (2) Å. Stacking appears to be stabilized by further weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, C(16)H(16)N(2)O(4), was obtained from the reaction of hydrazine hydrate and o-vanilin in absolute ethanol. The mol-ecule is almost planar (except for the methyl H atoms), with a mean deviation from the plane of 0.0259?Å. The mol-ecular structure also exhibits an approximate non-crystallographic twofold axis. Intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds occur. The bridging carbonyl C-C(=O)-C plane makes dihedral angles of 83.57?(7) and 20.21?(8)°, respectively, with the naphthalene ring system and the benzene ring. The ester O-C=O plane and the benzene ring are almost coplanar, making a dihedral angle of 3.81?(18)°. The two meth-oxy groups lie essentially in the naphthalene ring plane [C-O-C-C torsion angles = 2.1?(2) and -1.44?(19)°]. In the crystal structure, a centrosymmetric dimer is formed through C-H?O bonds connecting the 7-meth-oxy group and the carbonyl O atom of the ester group. The dimers are further linked by C-H?O hydrogen bonds between the methoxy-carbonyl group and the bridging carbonyl O atom.

In addition, the conformations of the pairs of methyl groups and their counterparts differ from each other though their environment is very similar. In the crystal, weak C-H?O inter-actions occur.
