ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(10)H(10)O(2), the 1-indanone unit is essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.028?Å). In the crystal, molecules are linked via C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming layers lying parallel to the ab plane. This two-dimensional structure is stabilized by a weak C-H?? inter-action. A second weak C-H?? inter-action links the layers, forming a three-dimensional structure.
