ABSTRACT: The crystal structure of the title compound, C19H15O2P, features pairs of mol-ecules joined by O-H?O hydrogen bonds across crystallographic inversion centers. In addition, ?-? inter-actions, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.6273?(9)?Å between the fluorene ring systems, connect the dimers into chains along [01-1]. The three rings make dihedral angles of 1.34?(9), 1.52?(10) and 1.51?(7)° with each other.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C24H25NOSi, is a hydrolysis product of the reaction between 9-tri-methyl-silyfluorenyl lithium and 2-meth-oxy-benzo-nitrile. The fluorene ring system is substanti-ally planar, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.0288 Å from the best-fit plane through its 13 C atoms. This plane forms a dihedral angle of 58.07 (7)° with the 2-meth-oxy-benzyl-amine ring plane. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯π and C-H⋯π inter-actions, which leads to the formation of two-dimensional network lying parallel to the bc plane.

Project description:The title compound, C(18)H(12)S, contains a thio-phene ring which is disordered by rotation of 180° about the linking C-C bond. The site occupancies of the major and minor components of the disordered ring are 0.900 (3) and 0.100 (3), respectively. In one of these disordered components, the mol-ecule is stabilized by an intra-molecular C-H⋯S hydrogen bond. The compound was synthesized in good yield (80%) by a modified phase-transfer-catalysed condensation of fluorene with thio-phene-2-carbaldehyde.

Project description:In the title compound, C23H18FNO3, the tricyclic 9-fluorenyl system is approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0279 Å). The N-C(=O) bond length is comparatively short [1.359 (3) Å], which is typical for such conjugated systems. The N atom has a planar configuration [sum of bond angles= 359.8°] due to conjugation of its lone pair with the π-system of the carbonyl group. In the crystal, a three-dimensional network is formed through N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the amide and carb-oxy-lic acid groups and carbonyl O-atom acceptors.

Project description:The title compound, C(19)H(11)NO, is stabilized by one intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond. The compound can be synthesized in good yield (49%), by transformation of functional groups [starting with 5-(fluoren-9-ylidenemeth-yl)furan-2-carbaldehyde]. The flourene and furan ring systems are nearly coplanar, with a dihedral angle of 6.36 (7)°.
