ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Co(C10H8N2)3](PF6)2, the Co(II) atom is coordinated by the six N atoms of three 2,2'-bipyridyl ligands and adopts a highly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The crystal used was a merohedral twin, the refined ratio of twin components being 0.820?(1):0.180?(1). The crystal structure features weak C-H?F inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title salt, [Pd(C(10)H(8)N(2))(C(6)H(6)NO)(2)](PF(6))(2), the Pd(II) atom is in a slightly distorted square-planar coordination environment by N atoms derived from two 4-pyridine-carboxamide ligands, in a cis disposition, and a chelating 2,2'-bipyridine mol-ecule. The monodentate ligands are nearly orthogonal to each other [dihedral angle = 85.7?(5)°] and to the PdN(4) plane [dihedral angles = 79.3?(3) and 78.7?(3)°]. The amide O atoms lie to opposite sides of the PdN(4) plane. The most notable feature of the crystal packing is a linear supra-molecular chain orientated approximately along [310] and formed via 16-membered {?HNCO}(4) motifs. These are connected into a three-dimensional network by amide-H?O, F inter-actions. Both PF(6) (-) anions are disordered over two positions of equal occupancy in respect of the F atoms.

Project description:The title compound, [Ru(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(C(13)H(7)N(3)S)](PF(6))(2)·CH(3)CN, was synthesized by the reaction of thio-phosgene and bis-(2,2'-bipyridine)(1,10-phenanthrolin-5-amine)ruthenium(II) bis-(hexa-fluoridophosphate). The Ru(II) atom adopts a slightly distorted octa-hedral RuN(6) coordinaton formed by four N atoms of two bipyridine ligands and by two N atoms of the 1,10-phenantroline ligand. The isothio-cyanate group is almost linear, with an N-C-S angle of 174.4?(6)°. Two of the three hexa-fluoridophosphate counter-anions are located on inversion centres.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(2)(C(14)H(8)O(4))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Co(II) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from one 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and two O atoms from two biphenyl-2,2'-dicarboxyl-ate (2,2'-dpa) ligands in a distorted planar geometry. Longer Co-O contacts [2.437 (3) and 2.552 (3) Å] are formed to the second O atom of each coordinated carboxyl-ate group so that these groups approximate a bidentate coordination mode and the coordination geometry around Co(II) approaches distorted octa-hedral. The 2,2'-dpa ligands bridge two Co(II) atoms, forming a cyclic dinuclear complex around a centre of inversion.

The distribution of Mo-O bond lengths in the Lindqvist isopolyanion is consistent with other structures containing the same unit. In the crystal, the cations and anions are linked by C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ru(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(C(5)H(6)N(2))(2)](PF(6))(2)·CH(3)CN, the Ru(II) atom is bonded to two α-diimine ligands, viz. 2,2'-bipyridine, in a cis configuration and to two 4-amino-pyridine (4Apy) ligands in the expected distorted octa-hedral configuration. The compound is isostructural with [Ru(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(C(5)H(6)N(2))(2)](ClO(4))(2)·CH(3)CN [Duan et al. (1999 ▶). J. Coord. Chem.46, 301-312] and both structures are stabilized by classical hydrogen bonds between 4Apy ligands as donors and counter-ions and acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules as acceptors. Indeed, N-H⋯F inter-actions give rise to an inter-molecularly locked assembly of two centrosymmetric complex mol-ecules and two PF(6) (-) counter-ions, which can be considered as the building units of both crystal architectures. The building blocks are connected to one another through hydrogen bonds between 4Apy and the connecting pieces made up of two centrosymmetric motifs with PF(6) (-) ions and acetonitrile mol-ecules, giving rise to ribbons running parallel to [011]. 2(1)-Screw-axis-related complex mol-ecules and PF(6) (-) counter-ions alternate in helical chains formed along the a axis by means of these contacts.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)][Mo(6)O(19)], consists of one complex [(Ni(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)](2+) cation and one Lindqvist-type [Mo(6)O(19)](2-) polyanion. The Ni(2+) ion is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination by six N atoms from three chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligands. The Lindqvist-type anion exhibits the characteristic Mo-O bond-length distribution, with the shortest bonds being the Mo-O(terminal) bonds [mean = 1.679?(2)?Å] and the longest being those to the central O atom [mean = 2.318?(7)?Å]. A number of C-H?O inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing.

Project description:The title heteroleptic bis--terpyridine complex, [Ru(C(15)H(11)N(3))(C(17)H(11)N(3))](PF(6))(2)·2CH(3)CN, crystallized from an acetonitrile solution as a salt containing two hexa-fluoridophosphate counter-ions and two acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules. The Ru(II) atom has a distorted octa-hedral geometry due to the restricted bite angle [157.7?(3)°] of the two mer-arranged N,N',N''-tridendate ligands, viz. 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (tpy) and 4'-ethynyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (tpy'), which are essentially perpendicular to each other, with a dihedral angle of 87.75?(12)° between their terpyridyl planes. The rod-like acetyl-ene group lies in the same plane as its adjacent terpyridyl moiety, with a maximum deviation of only 0.071?(11)?Å from coplanarity with the pyridine rings. The mean Ru-N bond length involving the outer N atoms trans to each other is 2.069?(6)?Å at tpy and 2.070?(6)?Å at tpy'. The Ru-N bond length involving the central N atom is 1.964?(6)?Å at tpy and 1.967?(6)?Å at tpy'. Two of the three counter anions were refined as half-occupied.

Project description:In the title compound, K[Ag(C(11)H(12)N(2))(2)](2)(PF(6))(3), the 12-coordinate potassium cation lies on a crystallographic twofold axis and one of the hexa-fluoro-phosphate anions is generated by symmetry. In the complex cation, the Ag(I) ion is coordinated by two C atoms; the two imidazolium rings are orientated at a dihedral angle of 8.14?(14)°. In the 1-benzyl-3-methyl-imidazolium units, the dihedral angles between imidazolium and phenyl rings are 80.47?(15) and 76.53?(14)°. The F atoms of the general-position hexa-fluoro-phosphate anion are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.767?(17):0.233?(17) ratio. In the crystal, the hexa-fluoro-phosphate anions link the cations into three-dimensional networks via inter-molecular C-H?F hydrogen bonds and are further consolidated by ?-? stacking [centroid-centroid distances = 3.5518?(15)?Å] inter-actions.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title mixed-ligand coordination polymer, [Nd(2)(C(12)H(6)N(2)O(4))(3)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Nd(III) ion is in an octa-hedral coordination environment formed by one water mol-ecule, one chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, and five monodentate carboxyl-ate groups. The local coordination polyhedron around the Nd(III) ion is a bicapped trigonal prism. Two Nd(III) centers are bridged by four carboxyl-ate groups to form an Nd(2) dimeric unit; these are further connected by 2,2'-bipyridine-4,4'-dicarboxyl-ate linkers, resulting in a layered coordination network.
