ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Co(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)][Mo(6)O(19)], the Co(2+) cation is surrounded in a distorted octa-hedral coordination by six N atoms from three 2,2'-bipyridine ligands. The distribution of Mo-O bond lengths in the Lindqvist isopolyanion is consistent with other structures containing the same unit. In the crystal, the cations and anions are linked by C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mo(C(18)H(24)N(2))(3)][Mo(6)O(19)]·4CH(3)CN, comprises an [Mo(di-t-Bu-bipy)(3)](2+) cation (di-t-Bu-bipy is 4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bipyridine), two halves of Lindqvist-type [Mo(6)O(19)](2-) anions (with each anion completed by the application of a center of inversion) and four acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules. The geometry around the metal atom of the cation resembles a distorted octa-hedron, with each of the three di-t-Bu-bipy ligands being almost planar [deviation from planarity < 6.3 (2)°]. Supra-molecular inter-actions, namely Mo=O⋯π, C N⋯π, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N, along with electrostatic forces, mediate the crystal packing. Two of the tert-butyl groups are affected by rotational disorder which was modeled over two distinct positions with major site occupancies of 0.707 (9) and 0.769 (8).

One of the two crystallographiclly independent morpholinium cations is half-occupied. Inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the cations, polyoxoanions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules.

The Lindqvist-type anion exhibits the characteristic W-O bond-length distribution, with the shortest bonds being the W-O(terminal) bonds and the longest being those to the central O atom.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)](2)[W(6)O(19)], consists of two [Cu(phen)(2)](+) cations (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) and one typical [W(6)O(19)](2-) isopolyanion. The Cu(I) atom is coordinated by four N atoms from two bidentate chelating phen ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The hexa-tungstate anion, lying on an inversion center and possessing the well known Lindqvist structure, is formed by six edge-sharing WO(6) octa-hedra, thus exhibiting an approximate O(h) symmetry. Three kinds of O atoms exist in the hexa-tungstate, viz. terminal O(a), bridging O(b) and central O(c) atoms. Besides the electrostatic effects between the anions and cations, weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds exist between the phen ligands and O(a) or O(b) atoms. The mean inter-planar distances of 3.485 (1) and 3.344 (1) Å indicate π-π stacking inter-actions between neighboring phen ligands. These weak hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking inter-actions lead to a two-dimensional network.

Project description:The title complex, [Ce(C(2)H(6)OS)(8)](2)[Mo(6)O(19)](3)·4C(2)H(6)OS, was obtained as a byproduct of the reaction of [(C(4)H(9))(4)N](2)[Mo(6)O(19)] with Ce(NO(3))(3)·6H(2)O and phthalic acid in dimethyl-sulfoxide solution. The asymmetric unit consists of a complex [Ce(C(2)H(6)OS)(8)](3+) cation, one and a half of the Lindqvist-type [Mo(6)O(19)](2-) polyanions and two dimethyl-sulfoxide solvent mol-ecules; the half polyanion lies on an inversion center. The Ce(3+) ion is coordinated by eight dimethyl-sulfoxide ligands through the O atoms in the form of a distorted square antiprism. The Ce-O bond lengths range from 2.429 (6) to 2.550 (5) Å. The cohesion of the structure is ensured by S⋯O [3.115 (6), 3.242 (10) and 3.12 (3) Å], O⋯O [3.037 (10) Å] and C-H⋯O inter-actions between cations and anions. The S and C atoms of a dmso ligand are disordered over three sites in a 0.45:0.30:0.25 ratio. The dimethyl-sulfoxide solvent mol-ecules are highly disordered and could not be modelled successfully; their contribution was therefore removed from the refinement using the SQUEEZE routine in PLATON [Spek (2009 ▶). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155]. Potential solvent-accessible voids of 500.0 Å(3) occur in the crystal structure.

Project description:The title complex, [(C(4)H(9))(4)N](2)[Mo(6)(C(7)H(6)ClN)O(18)], was prepared by the reaction of (Bu(4)N)(4)[α-Mo(8)O(26)] and 2-methyl-5-chloro-aniline hydro-chloride with N,N'-dicyclo-hexyl-carbodiimide as dehydrating agent in dry acetonitrile solution. The aryl-imido ligand is linked to an Mo atom of the Lindqvist-type hexamolybdate anion by an Mo N triple bond, with a bond length of 1.732 (4) Å and an Mo N-C bond angle of 169.1 (4)°, typical for monodentate imido groups in such hybrid complexes. Due to the inter-action between one H atom in the aryl group and an O atom of a symmetry-related hexa-molybdate cluster, the anions form centrosymmetric dimers in the crystal structure. Weak C-H⋯O contacts are observed between the cations and anions. Unresolved disorder in some of the butyl chains of the ammonium cation is noted.

The asymmetric unit consists of a transition metal complex [Co(en)(3)](3+) cation (en is ethyl-enediamine), one half of an [SiMo(8)V(4)O(40)(VO)(2)](6-) heteropolyanion, two solvent water mol-ecules in general positions and two half-mol-ecules of water located on a mirror plane. In the complex cation, the Co(3+) ion is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment formed by six N atoms of the three chelating en ligands. One of the en ligands exhibits disorder of its aliphatic chain over two sets of sites of equal occupancy. The [SiMo(8)V(4)O(40)(VO)(2)](6-) heteropolyanion is a four-electron reduced bivanadyl-capped α-Keggin-type molybdenum-vanadium-oxide cluster. In the crystal, it is located on a mirror plane, which results in disorder of the central tetra-hedral SiO(4) group: the O atoms of this group occupy two sets of sites related by a mirror plane. Furthermore, all of the eight μ(2)-oxide groups are also disordered over two sets of sites with equal occupancy. There are extensive inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the complex cations and inorganic polyoxidoanions, leading to a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.
