ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title hydrated co-crystal, 2C19H13N5·C6H10O4·4H2O, consists of one 2,6-bis-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)pyridine mol-ecule, half of an adipic acid mol-ecule (bis-ected by an inversion center) and two water solvates. In the crystal, N-H?O, O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.769?(2) and 3.731?(2)?Å] form a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:In the title compound, C(19)H(13)N(5)·C(4)H(8)O(2)·2H(2)O, the mol-ecular skeleton of the 2,6-bis-(benzimidazol-2-yl)pyridine (bbip) mol-ecule is essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.023?Å). An extensive three-dimensional network of inter-molecular N-H?O, O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds consolidates the crystal packing, which also exhibits ?-? inter-actions between the five- and six-membered rings from neighbouring bbip mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title compound, C(19)H(13)N(5)·3CH(4)O, the 2,6-bis-(2-benzimidazol-yl)pyridine mol-ecule is essentially planar with an r.m.s. deviation for all non-H atoms of 0.185 Å. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak π⋯π stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.6675 (16) and 3.6891 (15) Å. The atoms of one of the methanol solvent molecules are disordered over two sites with refined occupancies of 0.606(8) and 0.394(8).

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(19)H(13)N(5))(2)](C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))(2)·2C(3)H(7)NO, the Ni(II) ion is coordinated by two tridentate 2,6-bis-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)pyridine ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal structure, the picrate anions and solvent dimethyl-formamide (DMF) mol-ecules are connected to the cation via inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Further stabilization is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. One of the DMF moleclues is disordered over two sites with refined occupancies of 0.737 (3) and 0.263 (3).

Project description:The dinuclear title compound, [Pb(2)(C(6)H(8)O(4))(NO(3))(2)(C(19)H(13)N(5))(2)], lies with the mid-point of the butyl chain of the bridging adipate unit on a center of inversion. The Pb(II) ion is covalently bonded to the nitrate anion and is bonded to a carboxyl-ate group of the adipate unit by another covalent bond. The N-heterocycle functions in a chelating tridentate mode. The metal atom exists in a ?-octa-hedral coordination environment. When weaker Pb?O inter-actions are also considered, the geometry is a ?-tricapped trigonal prism in which the lone-pair electrons occupy one face of the trigonal prism. Adjacent mol-ecules are linked into a layer structure by N-H?O hydrogen bonds.
