Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 2C18H15Te(+)·2Br(-)·C3H6O or Ph3TeBr·0.5Me2CO, contains two crystallographically independent tri-phenyl-telluronium cations, two bromide anions, and one disordered [site-occupancy ratio = 0.581?(7):0.419?(7)] solvent mol-ecule. Inter-ionic Te?Br inter-actions connect the cations and anions into a tetra-meric step-like structure. The primary coordination spheres of both Te atoms are TeC3 trigonal pyramids: three short secondary tellurium-bromine inter-actions expand the coordination geometry of one of the Te atoms to an octa-hedron. While the other Te atom shows only two Te?Br secondary bonding inter-actions, it is also six-coordinated due to a Te?? inter-action [3.769?(2)?Å] with one of the phenyl rings of the adjacent cation.

Project description:The title salt, C(8)H(10)N(5) (+)·Br(-), crystallizes with two independent structural units in the asymmetric unit. The two independent cations have different conformations, the triazole and phenyl rings forming dihedral angles of 32.57 (6) and 52.27 (7)°. In both cations, the amino groups are planar (the sum of the angles at the N atom of each amino group is 360°) and conjugated with the triazole ring. Inter-molecular N-H⋯N and N-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:Single crystals of the title compound, C(10)H(13)OS(+)·Br(-), were obtained from ethyl acetate/ethyl ether after reaction of acetophenone with hydro-bromic acid and dimethyl-sulfoxide. The carbonyl group is almost coplanar with the neighbouring phenyl ring [O-C-C-C = 178.9?(2)°]. The sulfanium group shows a trigonal-pyramidal geometry at the S atom. The crystal structure is stabil-ized by C-H?Br hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. Weak ?-? inter-actions link adjacent phenyl rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.946?(2)?Å].

Project description:In the title salt, C(26)H(29)N(2) (+)·Br(-), which may serve as a precursor for N-heterocyclic carbenes, the imidazolidine ring adopts a twist conformation with a pseudo-twofold axis passing through the N-C-N carbon and the opposite C-C bond. The N-C-N bond angle [113.0?(4)°] and C-N bond lengths [1.313?(6) and 1.305?(6)?Å] confirm the existence of strong resonance in this part of the mol-ecule. In the crystal, a C-H?Br inter-action is present. The dihedral angle between the biphenyl rings is 64.3?(2)° and the phenyl rings make angles of 76.6?(3) and 18.5?(3)° with the plane of the imidazolidine ring.

Project description:The reaction of 3,3,3-tris-(dimethyl-amino)-1-phenyl-prop-1-yne with bromine in pentane yields the title compound, C(13)H(17)N(2) (+)·Br(-). The acetyl-enic bond distance [1.197?(2)?Å] is consistent with a C C triple bond. The amidinium C=N bonds [1.325?(2) and 1.330?(2)?Å] have double-bond character and the positive charge is delocalized between the two dimethyl-amino groups.

Project description:In the cation of the title salt, C9H12N3S+·Br-, the thia-zolidine ring adopts an envelope conformation with the C atom adjacent to the phenyl ring as the flap. In the crystal, N-H?Br hydrogen bonds link the components into a three-dimensional network. Weak ?-? stacking inter-actions between the phenyl rings of adjacent cations also contribute to the mol-ecular packing. A Hirshfeld surface analysis was conducted to qu-antify the contributions of the different inter-molecular inter-actions and contacts.

O-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds form an infinite chain in the c-axis direction and C-H⋯Br and C-H⋯O inter-actions expand this chain into an infinite three-dimensional network.
