ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C19H14N2O2, the dihedral angle between the mean planes of the 4-nitro-phenyl ring and the naphthalene ring system is 12.79?(2)°. The imine group displays a C-C-N=C torsion angle of 41.0?(2)° and the C=N group has an E conformation. In the crystal, weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds link molecules into layers parallel to the b axis.

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C48H33N, the central N atom shows no pyramidalization, so that the N atom and the three C atoms bound to the N atom lie almost in the same plane. The three para-phenyl-ene rings bonded to the N atom are in a propeller form. All of the naphthalene ring systems are slightly bent. In the crystal, mol-ecules form an inversion dimer, through two pairs of C-H⋯π inter-actions, which further inter-acts with the adjacent dimer via another two pairs of C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming a column structure along the a axis. There are no significant inter-actions between these column structures.

Project description:The title compound, C(19)H(15)NO(5), has an intra-molecular C-H?O=C hydrogen bond between a naphthalene H atom and the O atom of the carbonyl group. The inter-planar angle between the naphthalene ring system and the benzene ring is 69.59?(5)°. The dihedral angle between the bridging carbonyl C-C(=O)-C plane and the naphthalene ring system is 61.02?(6)°, which is far larger than that between the bridging carbonyl plane and the benzene ring [12.68?(7)°]. The nitro group is slightly out of the plane of the benzene ring [O-N-C-C torsion angle = 4.97?(17)°]. In the crystal, the packing is mainly stabilized by C-H?O inter-actions between an H atom of the benzene ring and an O atom of the nitro group.

Project description:The 30 non-H atoms in title dihydrazine compound, C(20)H(16)N(6)O(4)·2H(2)O, are close to coplanar, the r.m.s. deviation for these atoms being 0.096?Å. The conformation about each of the C=N bonds is E, and the mol-ecule has non-crystallographic 2/m symmetry. The presence of O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonding leads to a three-dimensional network in the crystal structure. A highly disordered solvent mol-ecule is present within a mol-ecular cavity defined by the organic and water mol-ecules. Its contribution to the electron density was removed from the observed data in the final cycles of refinement and the formula, molecular weight and density are given without taking into account the contribution of the solvent molecule.

Project description:The title compound, C(17)H(12)N(2)O(3), was synthesized by the reaction of 2-hy-droxy-1-naphthaldehyde with 4-nitro-benzenamine. These condense to form the Schiff base, which crystallizes in the zwitterionic form. In the structure, the keto-amino tautomer has a fairly short intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond between the 2-naphthalenone and amino groups, with electron delocalization. The mol-ecule is essentially planar, with a dihedral angle of 1.96?(3)° between the ring systems. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked via inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a layer parallel to (101).
