ABSTRACT: In the title ion-pair complex, (C12H14N2)[Cu(C4N2S2)2], the complex anion exhibits a highly twisted coordination environment around the tetra-coordinated Cu(II) atom. The dihedral angles between the 1,2-di-cyano-ethene-1,2-di-thiol-ato ligands and between the two pyridine rings in the cation are 37.49 (3) and 29.18 (10)°, respectively. Weak C-H⋯N and C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the cation of the title salt, (C(12)H(14)N(2))[Cr(2)O(7)], the two pyridinium moieties are in an anti orientation with respect to one another. The dihedral angle between the pyridine rings is 6.3?(2)°. The N-C-C-N torsion angle is 177.5?(2)°. In the dianion, the Cr(VI) ions are in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment and the bond angles at the independent Cr(VI) ions are in the ranges 105.93?(10)-110.60?(11) and 107.35?(11)-111.07?(12)°. The Cr-O-Cr angle is 127.96?(12)°. The crystal used was an inversion twin with refined components of 0.510?(19) and 0.490?(19).

Project description:The title salt, C(12)H(14)N(2) (2+)·2IO(3) (-), exhibits two crystallographically independent iodate anions, the I atoms of which are each in a trigonal-pyramidal environment. In the dication, the two pyridine rings adopt an anti conformation with respect to each other; the angle between these two rings is 3.84 (19)°. In the crystal structure, C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the cations and anions lead to the formation of layers arranged parallel to the ab plane. I⋯O halogen bonds [R(2) (2)(4) graph-set motif] range between 2.873 (2) and 3.036 (3) Å and connect neighbouring IO(3) (-) anions with each other along [100], so as to create a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt, (C12H11BrN)2[Ni(C4N2S2)2], consists of one 1-(4-bromo-benz-yl)pyridinium cation and one half of a complex [Ni(mnt)2](2-) (mnt(2-) is the maleo-nitrile-dithiol-ate dianion). The Ni(2+) ion is located on an inversion centre and is coordinated by four S atoms from two mnt(2-) ligands, exhibiting a square-planar coordination environment. Project description:A new ion-pair complex, (C16H14N)2[Ni(C4N2S2)2] or (1-NaMePy)2[Ni(imnt)2], where 1-NaMePy is 1-(4-naphthyl-methyl-ene)pyridinium and imnt is 2,2-di-cyano-ethene-1,1-di-thiol-ate, was obtained by the direct reaction of NiCl2, K2imnt and (1-NaMePy)(+)Br(-) in H2O. The asymmetric unit contains a [1-NaMePy](+) cation and one half of an Ni(imnt)2 (2-) anion. The Ni(II) ion lies on an inversion centre and adopts a square-planar configuration with Ni-S bond lengths of 2.200?(1) and 2.216?(1)?Å. In the [1-NaMePy](+) cation, the naphthyl ringsystem and the pyridinium ring make a dihedral angle of 90.0?(2)°. In the crystal, C-H?N and C-H?Ni hydrogen bonds, as well as ?-? inter-actions between the chelate ring and the pyridinium ring [centroid-centroid distance = 3.675?(2)?Å] link the ions into a three-dimensional network.

The anion and one pyridinium cation lie entirely on a mirror plane, whereas for the other cation, a crystallographic mirror plane runs through the N and para-C atoms of the pyridine ring, the methyl C atom, and the cyano group. In the crystal, ions are linked into a three-dimensional network by C-H?N hydrogen bonds.
