ABSTRACT: The title compound, C10H13NO4, is essentially planar, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.049?Å. An intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond occurs and the amino group forms an intra-molecular N-H?Oester hydrogen bond; the other H atom forms an inter-molecular N-H?Ocarbon-yl hydrogen bond, leading to the formation of a helical chain that runs along the b-axis direction.

In the anion the carb-oxy-lic acid and carboxyl-ate groups make dihedral angles of 19.0?(2) and 79.5?(2)°, respectively, with the benzene ring. Aminium N-H?O, carb-oxy-lic acid O-H?O and weak aromatic C-H?O hydrogen-bonding associations with carboxyl O-atom acceptors together with cation-anion ?-? ring inter-actions [minimum ring centroid separation = 3.734?(3)?Å] give rise to a sheet structure lying parallel to (001).

Project description:In the title compound, C9H9IO3, the mol-ecules are close to planar [maximum deviation from benzene ring plane = 0.229 (5) Å for the methyl carboxylate C atom] with the methyl groups oriented away from each other. In the crystal, mol-ecules form stacked layers parallel to the ab plane, where every layer has either the iodine or meth-oxy/methyl carboxyl-ate substituents pointing towards each other in an alternating fashion.

Project description:In the structure of the 1:1 proton-transfer compound of isopropyl-amine with 4,5-dichloro-phthalic acid, C(3)H(10)N(+)·C(8)H(3)Cl(2)O(4) (-), the three cation H-atom donors associate with three separate carboxyl O-atom anion acceptors, giving conjoint cyclic R(4) (4)(12), R(4) (4)(16) hydrogen-bonding cation-anion inter-actions in a one-dimensional ribbon structure. In the anions, the carboxyl groups lie slightly out of the plane of the benzene ring [maximum deviations = 0.439?(1) for a carboxylic acid O atom and 0.433?(1)?Å for a carboxyl-ate O atom]. However, the syn-related proton of the carboxylic acid group forms the common short intra-molecular O-H?O(carbox-yl) hydrogen bond.

Project description:In the title compound, C22H32O4, the atoms of the methyl ester group and the alk-oxy O atoms are all coplanar with the central aromatic ring, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.008 Å. Bonds to the methyl-ene and cyclo-hexyl groups are also very close to this plane, so that the mol-ecule is essentially flat, apart from the cyclo-hexyl groups. The mean planes through the cyclo-hexyl groups are tilted by 30.08 (9) and 36.14 (7)° with respect to the central aromatic ring. In the crystal, pairs of mol-ecules linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form planar units which are stacked along the a axis, with an average inter-planar distance of 3.549 (2) Å. Stacking appears to be stabilized by further weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the structure of the 1:1 proton-transfer compound of 4-methyl-pyridine (?-picoline) with 4,5-dichloro-phthalic acid, C(6)H(8)N(+)·C(8)H(3)Cl(2)O(4) (-)·H(2)O, determined at 200?K, the 4,5-dichloro-phthalate anions are bridged by the water mol-ecule through O-H?O(carbox-yl) hydrogen bonds, giving zigzag chains which extend along the c-axis direction. The 4-methyl-pyridinium cations are linked to the chains through single N-H?O(water) hydrogen bonds and occupy the voids within the chains in the one-dimensional structure. The anions have the common 'planar' conformation with a short intra-molecular O-H?O(carbox-yl) hydrogen bond.

Project description:The title compound, C16H26NO2 (+)·C7H5O2 (-), is a benzoate salt of the painkiller Tramadol. The six-membered cyclo-hexane ring of the cation adopts a slightly distorted chair conformation and carries OH and 3-meth-oxy-phenyl substituents at the 2-position and a protonated methyl-aza-niumylmethyl group at the 3-position. In addition, a weak intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond is observed in the cation. In the crystal, weak O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the components into chains along [010]. A C-H?? contact is also observed.
