Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystem disease with significant morbidity and even mortality. <i>Cytomegalovirus</i> (CMV) is a ubiquitous herpesvirus that, similar to SLE, can also lead to significant morbidity and mortality in the immunocompromised host.
