2-(1,3-Benzodioxol-5-yl)-1H-benzimid-azole.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C14H10N2O2, contains two independent mol-ecules. In each mol-ecule, the benzodioxole ring system displays an envelope conformation, with the methyl-ene C atom located at the flap deviating by 0.081 (2) and 0.230 (2) Å from the mean plane formed by the other atoms. The dihedral angles between the benzo-imidazole ring system (all atoms) and the benzodioxole benzene ring are 15.35 (6) and 10.99 (7)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds into chains running along the [101].

Project description:In the title compound, C23H16N2·0.5C6H6, the benzimidazole unit [maximum deviation = 0.0258 (6) Å] and the naphthalene ring system [maximum deviation = 0.0254 (6) Å] are both essentially planar and make a dihedral angle of 61.955 (17)°. The imidazole ring makes dihedral angle of 61.73 (4)° with the phenyl ring. An intra-molecular C-H⋯N hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, seven weak C-H⋯π inter-actions involving the fused ring system, the benzene solvent mol-ecule, the imidazole phenyl rings are observed, leading to a three-dimensional architecture.

Project description:In the title compound, C(13)H(10)N(2)O, the fused-ring system is essentially planar, the largest deviation from the mean plane being 0.015 (1) Å. The two propynyl groups are nearly perpendicular to the benzimidazole plane, making dihedral angles of 85 (3) and 80 (2) °, and point in opposite directions. There are two short inter-molecular C-H⋯O contacts to the carbonyl O atom, one involving the acetyl-enic H atom and the other a H atom of the methyl-ene group.

Project description:In the title compound, C17H15N3O2, two independent mol-ecules (A and B) comprise the asymmetric unit. The major conformational difference arises in the relative orientation of the pyrazole ring amine and dioxole substituents which are anti in A and syn in B. The five-membered dioxole ring in each mol-ecule has an envelope conformation with the methyl-ene C atom as the flap. The mean plane through the benzodioxole and benzene groups make dihedral angles of 31.67 (8) and 68.22 (9)°, respectively, with the pyrazole ring in A; the equivalent values for B are 47.18 (7) and 49.08 (9)°. In the crystal, supra-molecular zigzag chains along the b-axis direction arise as a result of N-H⋯N hydrogen bonding. These are consolidated into supra-molecular double chains via C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions.
