ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(25)H(19)NO(3), the oxazine ring displays a half-chair conformation. The fused benzene ring is nearly parallel to the naphthyl ring system, the dihedral angle between this benzene ring and the naphthyl system being 8.52?(11)°. The imino group is not involved in hydrogen bonding in the crystal structure.

In addition, the NH group forms an inter-molecular hydrogen bond to a symmetry equivalent of this carbonyl O atom, connecting the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(22)H(17)N(3)O, the oxazine ring has a half-chair conformation. The dihedral angles between the best least-squares plane through the pyridine rings and the planar part (O-C-C-C-N) of the oxazine ring are 72.14?(6) and 35.44?(7)°, the smaller angle involving the pyridine ring adjacent to the oxazine O atom. The mol-ecule has two stereogenic centers at the oxazine carbons, RS and SR. The crystal packing reveals that symmetry-related mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds to form chains parallel to the b axis.

Project description:In the title compound, C23H19NO2, an oxazine Mannich base derivative, the oxazine ring has a half-chair conformation. The 2-hy-droxy-naphthalen-1-yl substituent is placed in an axial position. There is an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond, forming an S(6) graph-set motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by a pair of C-H⋯π inter-actions into an inversion dimer, which is reinforced by another pair of weak C-H⋯π inter-actions. The dimers are linked by a π-π inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6268 (17) Å], consolidating a column along the a axis. Furthermore, the columns inter-act with each other by a weak C-H⋯π inter-action, generating a three-dimensional network.
