Tetra-kis(2,3,5,5-tetra-methyl-hexen-2-yl)silane.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C40H76Si, the Si atom is located on a special position of site symmetry -4. Thus, there is just a quarter of a mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The C=C double bonds exhibit a trans configuration. The Si atom and the tert-butyl group are located on the same side of the plane formed by the C=C double bond and its four substituents. The crystal packing shows no short contacts between the mol-ecules and despite the low crystal density (0.980 Mg?m(-3)), there are no significant voids in the structure.

Project description:The title compound, [-Si(C(12)H(9))(2)OSi(CH(3))(2)O-](2), was obtained unintentionally as the product of an attempted crystallization of caesium bis-(biphenyl-2,2'-di-yl)fluoro-silicate from dimethyl-formamide. In the crystal, the mol-ecule is located on an inversion center and the siloxane ring adopts a twist-chair conformation with the two dimethyl-substituted Si atoms lying 0.7081 (5) Å out of the plane defined by the two bis-(biphenyl-2-yl)-substituted Si atoms and the four O atoms. In each Si(C(12)H(9))(2) unit, the orientation of one terminal phenyl ring relative to the phenyl-ene ring of the other biphenyl moiety suggests a parallel displaced π-π stacking inter-action [centroid distance = 4.2377 (11) Å and dihedral angle = 15.40 (9)°].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(44)H(38)N(8) (2+)·4I(-)·4H(2)O, comprises two halves of non-equivalent cations of 5,10,15,20-tetra-kis-(1-methyl-pyridinium)porphyrin (with the full mol-ecule of each completed by the application of inversion symmetry), four charge balancing iodide anions and four water mol-ecules of crystallization (two water mol-ecules are fully occupied and four mol-ecules have a site occupancy of 50%). The porphyrin cations are arranged into supramolecular columns parallel to the b axis, mediated by π-π [centroid-centroid distance = 3.762 (4) Å] and C-H⋯π supra-molecular inter-actions [C⋯centroid distance = 3.522 (7) Å, C-H⋯centroid = 128°], leading to the formation of columns parallel to the b axis. The close packing leads to the presence of a one-dimensional channel filled with partially occupied water mol-ecules engaged in O-H⋯O and O-H⋯I hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, C12H20N2S4, synthesized by the reaction of 2,3,5,6-tetra-kis-(bromo-meth-yl)pyrazine with sodium methane-thiol-ate, crystallizes with a half -mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The whole mol-ecule is generated by inversion symmetry; the inversion centre being located in the centre of the pyrazine ring. The mol-ecule has an S-shaped conformation with two (methyl-sulfan-yl)methyl substituent arms directed above the plane of the pyrazine ring and two below. The C(H3)-S-C(H2)-C(aromatic) torsion angles are 70.47 (18) and -67.65 (17)°, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via weak C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [001] and enclosing R 2 (2)(12) ring motifs. The chains are linked by further weak C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, forming sheets lying parallel to (101).

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(4)(C(16)H(10)N(4)O(2))(4)]·4H(2)O, the N'-[(8-oxidoquinolin-7-yl)methyl-idene]isonicotinohydrazidate (L(2-)) ligand binds to the metal ions, forming stable five- and six-membered chelate rings, leaving the pyridyl groups free. The compound is a tetra-nuclear Zn(II) complex centered about a fourfold roto-inversion axis, with the ligand coordinating in the doubly deprotonated form. The Zn(II) atom has a distorted square-pyramidal geometry being coordinated by one N and two O-atom donors from the doubly deprotonated L(2-) ligand, and by one N atom and one O-atom donor from a symmetry-related L(2-) ligand. In the crystal, four symmetry-related lattice water mol-ecules, centred about a fourfold roto-inversion axis, form a cyclic tetra-mer through O-H?O hydrogen bonds. These tetra-mers connect to the complex mol-ecules through O-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming a chain propagating along [100]. Neighbouring mol-ecules are linked by ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.660?(2)?Å] involving the quinolidine rings.

It crystallizes with two half mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The complete mol-ecules are generated by inversion symmetry, with the center of the pyrazine rings being located at crystallographic centres of inversion. The ligand coordinates two NiII ions in a bis-penta-dentate manner and the sixfold coordination sphere of each nickel(II) atom (NiS2O3N) is completed by a water mol-ecule. The complex crystallized as a hepta-hydrate. The binuclear complexes are linked by Owater-H⋯Ocarbon-yl hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the (101) plane. This layered structure is additionally stabilized by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Further O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving binuclear complexes and solvent water mol-ecules, together with weak C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, link the layers to form a supra-molecular framework.

Project description:The title compound, C(48)H(40), is a tetra-isopropyl-substituted polyannulenoenyne. The unsubstituted polyannulenoenyne, C(36)H(16) (CSD: RICVEE; CAS: 186494-87-1), has quasi-D(2) (222) symmetry, as determined by least-squares fit (excluding H atoms) to a model optimized in D(2) symmetry by mol-ecular mechanics (r.m.s. deviation = 0.239 Å). The least-squares fits of 36 common C atoms of the title compound (at 90 K) to the parent (at 295 K) and to the optimized model show r.m.s. deviations of 0.419 and 0.426 Å, respectively.

The asymmetric unit is composed of half a binuclear silver complex located about a center of symmetry, a potassium cation and 2.6 disordered water mol-ecules. The whole binuclear silver complex is generated by inversion symmetry with the pyrazine ring being located about an inversion centre. The ligand coordinates in a bis-tetra-dentate manner. The binuclear silver complex anions are linked via bridging Ag⋯S⋯Ag zigzag bonds, forming a network lying parallel to the bc plane. The networks are linked by Ocarboxyl-ate⋯K +⋯Ocarboxyl-ate bridging bonds to form a framework. The disordered water mol-ecules are present near to the K+ cations.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(6)H(9)N(2))(4)[V(4)O(12)]·4H(2)O, contains half of a [V(4)O(12)](4-) anion, two 2-amino-4-methyl-pyridinium, (2a4mpH)(+), cations and two water mol-ecules. One water mol-ecule is disordered over two sets of sites with equal occupancies and the H atoms for this mol-ecule were not included in the refinement. The cation lies on an inversion center with four tetra-hedral VO(4) units each sharing two vertices, forming an eight-membered ring. In the crystal, the components are linked by inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a one-dimensional network along [100]. Further stabilization is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. In addition, ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.5420?(18), 3.7577?(18) and 3.6311?(19)?Å are observed.
