Project description:The title tetra-nuclear Sn(IV) compound, [Sn(4)(C(7)H(6)Cl)(8)Cl(2)O(2)(OH)(2)], has site symmetry . Two O(2-) and two OH(-) anions bridge four Sn(IV) cations to form the tetra-nuclear compound. The two independent Sn(IV) cations assume SnO(3)C(2) and SnO(2)C(2)Cl distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometries. Intra-molecular O-H?Cl hydrogen bonding is present in the structure. One Cl atom of a chloro-benzyl ligand is disordered over two sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.693?(2):0.307?(2).

Redetermination of tetra-kis(N,N-diethyl-dithio-carbamato)tin(IV).

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Sn(C(5)H(10)NS(2))(4)], was originally determined by Harreld & Schlemper [Acta Cryst. (1971), B27, 1964-1969] using intensity data estimated from Weissenberg films. In comparison with the previous refinement, the current redetermination reveals anisotropic displacement parameters for all non-H atoms, localization of the H atoms, and higher precision of lattice parameters and inter-atomic distances. The complex features a distorted S(6) octa-hedral coordination geometry for tin and a cis disposition of the monodentate dithio-carbamate ligands.

Project description:The title stannoxane is a toluene-solvated dimer, [Sn(4)(C(7)H(6)Cl)(8)Cl(2)O(2)(OH)(2)]·C(7)H(8), the tetra-nuclear mol-ecule lying across a center of inversion. The Sn(4)O(4) framework, whose two independent Sn atoms show trigonal bipyramidal coordination, is essentially planar (r.m.s deviation = 0.02?Å). One of the two chloro-benzyl groups of the chloridodiorganyltin unit is disordered over two positions with the chloro-phenyl residue refined over two positions in a 50:50 ratio. The solvent mol-ecule is disordered about a twofold axis.

Project description:In the title compound, C40H76Si, the Si atom is located on a special position of site symmetry -4. Thus, there is just a quarter of a mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The C=C double bonds exhibit a trans configuration. The Si atom and the tert-butyl group are located on the same side of the plane formed by the C=C double bond and its four substituents. The crystal packing shows no short contacts between the mol-ecules and despite the low crystal density (0.980 Mg?m(-3)), there are no significant voids in the structure.

The Sn(IV) atom in the mol-ecule shows a distorted trans-trigonal-bipyramidal coordination with the methyl groups in equatorial positions. The mol-ecule lies on a center of inversion, with the mid-point of the butyl chain coinciding with this symmetry element. In the crystal, weak C-H?? inter-actions occur between pyridine rings of adjacent mol-ecules.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Sn(4)(C(7)H(6)Cl)(8)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(2)O(2)(OH)(2)], comprises one-half of the centrosymmetric tin(IV) complex. ?(3)-Oxide and ?(2)-hydroxide bridges link the four five-coordinate Sn(IV) atoms to generate three fused four-membered Sn-O-Sn-O rings in a ladder-like structure. The two endocyclic Sn atoms each bind to two ?(3)-oxide anions and a ?(2)-hydroxide ligand, together with two 2-chloro-benzyl groups. The exocyclic Sn atoms each carry a monodentate phenyl-acetate ligand, two 2-chloro-benzyl groups, and ?(3)-oxide and ?(2)-hydroxide ligands. Both types of Sn atoms adopt a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular O-H?O inter-actions involving the ?(2)-hydroxide ligands and the C=O group of the phenyl-acetate ligand.

Project description:The title compound, [-Si(C(12)H(9))(2)OSi(CH(3))(2)O-](2), was obtained unintentionally as the product of an attempted crystallization of caesium bis-(biphenyl-2,2'-di-yl)fluoro-silicate from dimethyl-formamide. In the crystal, the mol-ecule is located on an inversion center and the siloxane ring adopts a twist-chair conformation with the two dimethyl-substituted Si atoms lying 0.7081 (5) Å out of the plane defined by the two bis-(biphenyl-2-yl)-substituted Si atoms and the four O atoms. In each Si(C(12)H(9))(2) unit, the orientation of one terminal phenyl ring relative to the phenyl-ene ring of the other biphenyl moiety suggests a parallel displaced π-π stacking inter-action [centroid distance = 4.2377 (11) Å and dihedral angle = 15.40 (9)°].

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(CH(3))(3)(C(6)H(5)O(2)S)](n), forms an infinite chain structure parallel to [100]. There are two mol-ecules of the complex in the asymmetric unit. The geometry of the Sn atoms in both mol-ecules is distorted trigonal-bipyramidal. The S and C atoms of the thio-phene rings in both mol-ecules are disordered over two sites with site-occupancy factors 0.799?(9)/0.201?(9) and 0.618?(7)/0.382?(7), respectively.

Project description:The title compound, C12H20N2S4, synthesized by the reaction of 2,3,5,6-tetra-kis-(bromo-meth-yl)pyrazine with sodium methane-thiol-ate, crystallizes with a half -mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The whole mol-ecule is generated by inversion symmetry; the inversion centre being located in the centre of the pyrazine ring. The mol-ecule has an S-shaped conformation with two (methyl-sulfan-yl)methyl substituent arms directed above the plane of the pyrazine ring and two below. The C(H3)-S-C(H2)-C(aromatic) torsion angles are 70.47?(18) and -67.65?(17)°, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via weak C-H?S hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [001] and enclosing R 2 (2)(12) ring motifs. The chains are linked by further weak C-H?S hydrogen bonds, forming sheets lying parallel to (101).
