ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C14H12ClN5, the di-hydro-pyridine ring adopts a shallow boat conformation. The dihedral angle between the plane of this ring and that of the chloro-benzene ring is 69.15?(15)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H?N and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, generating (001) sheets.

Project description:In the title compound, C(29)H(18)ClN(5)·C(2)H(6)O, the dihydro-pyridine ring adopts a strongly flattened envelope conformation, with a maximum deviation of 0.139?(2)?Å from its best plane for the Csp(3) atom. The dihedral angles between the dihydro-pyridine ring plane and the two indole rings in positions 2 and 6 are 34.28?(5) and 40.50?(6)°, respectively. In turn, the benzene ring and the dihydro-pyridine ring are oriented at a dihedral angle of 74.69?(6)°. An intra-molecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H?N, N-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds into layers parallel to (001). There are short C-H?Cl contacts between mol-ecules in neighboring layers.

Project description:In the title compound, C(17)H(17)Cl(2)NO(2), the central 1,4-dihydro-pyridine ring adopts a flattened-boat conformation. The ethanone substituents of the dihydro-pyridine ring at positions 3 and 5 have synperiplanar (cis) or anti-periplanar (trans) conformations with respect to the adjacent C=C bonds in the dihydro-pyridine ring. The 2,4-dichloro-phenyl ring is almost planar [r.m.s. deviation = 0.0045 (1) Å] and almost perpendicular [89.27 (3)°] to the mean plane of the dihydro-pyridine ring. In the crystal, an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond links mol-ecules into a zigzag chain along the ac diagonal. C-H⋯Cl contacts form centrosymmetric dimers and additional weak C-H⋯O contacts further consolidate the packing.

Project description:In the title compound, C20H25NO5, the di-hydro-pyridine ring adopts a flattened boat conformation. The meth-oxy-phenyl ring is almost perpendicular to the mean plane of the pyridine ring [dihedral angle = 88.42?(3)°]. The two carbonyl units adopt a synperiplanar conformation with respect to the double bonds in the di-hydro-pyridine ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by N-H?O hydrogen bonds into R 4 (4)(24) tetra-meric rings. A region of disordered electron density, located at the center of four adjacent mol-ecules, was treated with the SQUEEZE routine in PLATON [Spek (2009 ?). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155]. It is probably the result of traces of the solvent of crystallization and was not taken into account during the structure refinement.

Project description:The title compound, C25H27NO4, has a flattened di-hydro-pyridine ring. The benzene and phenyl rings are synclinal to one another, forming a dihedral angle of 49.82?(8)°; the axis of the biphenyl rings makes an 81.05?(9)° angle to the plane of the di-hydro-pyridine ring. In the crystal, N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chain motifs running along the a-axis direction. The chains are cross-linked by C-H?O inter-actions, forming sheet motifs running slightly off the (110) plane, together with an intermolecular interaction between head-to tail biphenyl groups, thus making the whole crystal packing a three-dimensional network. Intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds are also observed.

Project description:In the title compound, C17H21NO4S, the 1,4-di-hydro-pyridine ring has an envelope conformation with the Csp 3 atom at the flap. The thio-phene ring is nearly perpendicular to the best plane through the 1,4-di-hydro-pyridine ring, the dihedral angle being 82.19 (13)°. In the crystal, chains running along the b-axis direction are formed through N-H⋯O inter-actions between the 1,4-di-hydro-pyridine N atom and one of the O atoms of the ester groups. Neighbouring chains are linked by C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions. A Hirshfeld surface analysis shows that the most prominent contributuion to the surface contacts are H⋯H contacts (55.1%).

Project description:In 2-amino-4-(4-bromo-phen-yl)-6-oxo-1-phenyl-1,4,5,6-tetra-hydro-pyridine-3-carbo-nitrile hemihydrate, C18H14BrN3O·0.5H2O, (I), pairs of mol-ecules are linked by pairs of N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming dimers with an R 2 2(12) ring motif. The dimers are connected by N-H⋯Br and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and C-Br⋯π inter-actions, forming layers parallel to the (010) plane. 1,6-Di-amino-2-oxo-4-phenyl-1,2-di-hydro-pyridine-3,5-dicarbo-nitrile, C13H9N5O, (II), crystallizes in the triclinic space group P with two independent mol-ecules (IIA and IIB) in the asymmetric unit. In the crystal of (II), mol-ecules IIA and IIB are linked by inter-molecular N-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into layers parallel to (001). These layers are connected along the c-axis direction by weak C-H⋯N contacts. C-H⋯π and C-N⋯π inter-actions connect adjacent mol-ecules, forming chains along the a-axis direction. In (I) and (II), the stability of the packing is ensured by van der Waals inter-actions between the layers. In (I), Hirshfeld surface analysis showed that the most important contributions to the crystal packing are from H⋯H (37.9%), C⋯H/H⋯C (18.4%), Br⋯H/H⋯Br (13.3%), N⋯H/H⋯N (11.5%) and O⋯H/H⋯O (10.0%) inter-actions, while in (II), H⋯H inter-actions are the most significant contributors to the crystal packing (27.6% for mol-ecule IIA and 23.1% for mol-ecule IIB).

Project description:The title compound, C(18)H(19)NO(5), is a product of the Hantzsch reaction of p-phthalaldehyde, methyl acetoacetate, and ammonium acetate. The 1,4-dihydro-pyridine ring of the mol-ecule adopts a flattened boat conformation. The benzene ring is almost perpendicular to the 1,4-dihydro-pyridine ring; the plane through the six C atoms of the benzene ring and the plane through the four C atoms that form the base of the boat-shaped 1,4-dihydro-pyridine ring (excluding the ring N atom and the opposite ring C atom) make a dihedral angle of 87.60 (3)°. Inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds result in the formation of extended chains along the a axis.

Project description:The crystal structures of three isomeric compounds of formula C14H13Cl2NO2S, namely 3,5-di-chloro-N-(2,3-di-methyl-phen-yl)-benzene-sulfonamide (I), 3,5-di-chloro-N-(2,6-di-methyl-phen-yl)benzene-sulfonamide (II) and 3,5-di-chloro-N-(3,5-di-methyl-phen-yl)benzene-sulfonamide (III) are described. The mol-ecules of all the three compounds are U-shaped with the two aromatic rings inclined at 41.3 (6)° in (I), 42.1 (2)° in (II) and 54.4 (3)° in (III). The mol-ecular conformation of (II) is stabilized by intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π inter-actions. The crystal structure of (I) features N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded R22(8) loops inter-connected via C(7) chains of C-H⋯O inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional architecture. The structure also features π-π inter-actions [Cg⋯Cg = 3.6970 (14) Å]. In (II), N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded R22(8) loops are inter-connected via π-π inter-actions [inter-centroid distance = 3.606 (3) Å] to form a one-dimensional architecture running parallel to the a axis. In (III), adjacent C(4) chains of N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded mol-ecules running parallel to [010] are connected via C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming sheets parallel to the ab plane. Neighbouring sheets are linked via offset π-π inter-actions [inter-centroid distance = 3.8303 (16) Å] to form a three-dimensional architecture.
