Crystal structure of N'-(2,6-di-methyl-phen-yl)benzene-carboximidamide tetra-hydro-furan monosolvate.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C15H16N2·C4H8O, contains two amidine mol-ecules (A and B) with slightly different conformations and two tetra-hydro-furan (THF) solvent mol-ecules. In the amidine mol-ecules, the di-methyl-phenyl ring and the NH2 group lie to the same side of the N=C bond and the dihedral angles between the aromatic rings are 54.25 (7) (mol-ecule A) and 58.88 (6) ° (mol-ecule B). In the crystal, N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds link the amidine mol-ecules into [100] C(4) chains of alternating A and B mol-ecules. Both amidine mol-ecules form an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond to an adjacent THF solvent mol-ecule.

Project description:The title compound, [Sm(C(25)H(35)N(2))(C(14)H(24)Si(2))(C(4)H(8)O)]·C(7)H(8), was prepared by treatment of anhydrous samarium trichloride with a 1:1 mixture of in situ-prepared Li(DippForm) [DippFormH = N,N'-bis-(2,6-diisopropyl-phen-yl)methanimidamide] and Li(2)(COT'') [COT'' = 1,4-bis-(trimethyl-sil-yl)cyclo-octa-tetra-enyl] in tetra-hydro-furan (THF). Despite the presence of two very bulky ligands (COT'' and DippForm), the mol-ecule still contains one coordinated THF ligand. The overall coordination geometry around the Sm(III) atom resembles a three-legged piano-stool with the COT'' ligand being η(8)-coordinated and the DippForm(-) anion acting as an N,N'-chelating ligand [Sm-N = 2.5555 (15) and 2.4699 (15) Å]. The asymmetric unit also contains a disordered mol-ecule of toluene, the refined ratio of the two components being 0.80 (4):0.20 (4).

Project description:The title pseudo-polymorph of 3-(tri-phenyl-phospho-ranyl-idene)-2,5-di-hydro-furan-2,5-dione crystallizes with a tetra-hydro-furan solvent mol-ecule, viz. C22H17O3P·C4H8O. The succinic anhydride ring is approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.032 Å). The tetra-hydro-furan mol-ecule is disordered over two orientations about a pseudo-twofold axis with refined occupancy ratio 0.718 (4):0.282 (4). In the crystal, C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link mol-ecules of the di-hydro-furan-2,5-dione derivative into chains parallel to the b axis and arranged into layers stacked along [100] alternating with hydrogen-bonded tetra-hydro-furan layers.

Project description:In the title methyl-ene-bridged di(tetra-hydro-pyrimidinium) salt, C33H50N4 (2+)·2Br(-)·C2H5OH·H2O, the two tetra-hydro-pyrimidinium rings have envelope conformations with the central CH2 C atom as the flap. Their mean planes are inclined to one another by 73.31 (13)° and the attached benzene rings are inclined to one another by 67.39 (15)°. The methylene-C-N bond lengths in the tetra-hydro-pyrimidinium rings are 1.314 (3) and 1.304 (3) Å, values typical for C=N double bonds. The distances between the methyl-ene-bridge C atom and the linked tetra-hydro-pyrimidinium N atom are 1.457 (3) and 1.465 (3) Å, values typical for C-N single bonds. The mol-ecules co-crystallized with H2O and EtOH mol-ecules from the solvent. In the crystal, there is a zigzag chain along [010] of water mol-ecules linked by one of the Br(-) anions via O-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds. The second Br(-) anion is hydrogen bonded (O-H⋯Br) to the ethanol solvent mol-ecule. There are also a number of C-H⋯Br and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds present, leading to the formation of a two-dimensional network lying parallel to the bc plane.

Project description:The crystal structures of three isomeric compounds of formula C14H13Cl2NO2S, namely 3,5-di-chloro-N-(2,3-di-methyl-phen-yl)-benzene-sulfonamide (I), 3,5-di-chloro-N-(2,6-di-methyl-phen-yl)benzene-sulfonamide (II) and 3,5-di-chloro-N-(3,5-di-methyl-phen-yl)benzene-sulfonamide (III) are described. The mol-ecules of all the three compounds are U-shaped with the two aromatic rings inclined at 41.3 (6)° in (I), 42.1 (2)° in (II) and 54.4 (3)° in (III). The mol-ecular conformation of (II) is stabilized by intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π inter-actions. The crystal structure of (I) features N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded R22(8) loops inter-connected via C(7) chains of C-H⋯O inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional architecture. The structure also features π-π inter-actions [Cg⋯Cg = 3.6970 (14) Å]. In (II), N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded R22(8) loops are inter-connected via π-π inter-actions [inter-centroid distance = 3.606 (3) Å] to form a one-dimensional architecture running parallel to the a axis. In (III), adjacent C(4) chains of N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded mol-ecules running parallel to [010] are connected via C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming sheets parallel to the ab plane. Neighbouring sheets are linked via offset π-π inter-actions [inter-centroid distance = 3.8303 (16) Å] to form a three-dimensional architecture.

Project description:The crystal structures of the title compounds, two solvates (CHCl3 and THF) of a symmetric and highly substituted porphyrin, C44H2Br8F20N4 or OBrTPFPP, are described. These structures each feature a non-planar porphyrin ring, exhibiting a similar conformation of the strained ring independent of solvent identity. These distorted porphyrins are able to form hydrogen bonds and sub-van der Waals halogen inter-actions with enclathrated solvent; supra-molecular inter-actions of proximal macrocycles are additionally affected by solvent choice. The crystal studied for compound 1·CHCl3 was refined as an inversion twin. One penta-fluoro-phenyl group was modelled as disordered over two sites [occupancy ratio = 0.462 (7):0.538 (7)]. The chloro-form solvate was also modelled as disordered over two orientations [occupancy ratio = 0.882 (7): 0.118 (7).

Epalrestat tetra-hydro-furan monosolvate: crystal structure and phase transition.

Project description:The title compound, epalrestat {systematic name: (5Z)-5-[(2E)-2-methyl-3-phenyl-prop-2-en-1-yl-idene]-4-oxo-2-sulfanyl-idene-1,3-thia-zolidine-3-acetic acid}, crystallized as a tetra-hydro-furan monosolvate, C15H13NO3S2·C4H8O. Epalrestat, an important drug for diabetic neuropathy, has been reported to exist in polymphic, solvated and co-crystal forms. In the mol-ecule reported here, the phenyl ring is inclined to the rhodamine ring by 22.31 (9)°, and the acetic acid group is almost normal to the rhodamine ring, making a dihedral angle of 88.66 (11)°. In the crystal, pairs of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed between the carb-oxy-lic acid groups of epalerstat mol-ecules, forming inversion dimers with an R22(8) loop. The dimers are linked by pairs of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [101]. The solvate mol-ecules are linked to the chain by a C-H⋯O(tetra-hydro-furan) hydrogen bond. A combination of thermal analysis and powder X-ray diffraction revealed that title compound desolvated into epalerstat Form II. One C atom of the tetra-hydro-furan solvate mol-ecule is positionally disordered and has a refined occupancy ratio of 0.527 (18):0.473 (18).

Project description:In the title compound, C(17)H(17)Cl(2)NO(2), the central 1,4-dihydro-pyridine ring adopts a flattened-boat conformation. The ethanone substituents of the dihydro-pyridine ring at positions 3 and 5 have synperiplanar (cis) or anti-periplanar (trans) conformations with respect to the adjacent C=C bonds in the dihydro-pyridine ring. The 2,4-dichloro-phenyl ring is almost planar [r.m.s. deviation = 0.0045 (1) Å] and almost perpendicular [89.27 (3)°] to the mean plane of the dihydro-pyridine ring. In the crystal, an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond links mol-ecules into a zigzag chain along the ac diagonal. C-H⋯Cl contacts form centrosymmetric dimers and additional weak C-H⋯O contacts further consolidate the packing.
