Pattern-dependent collective behaviors of cells have recently raised intensive attention. However, the underlying mechanisms that regulate these behaviors are largely elusive. Here, we report a quantitative study, combining experiment and modeling, on cell polarization and arrangement on a micropatterned substrate.
