Discriminating safety from danger must be accurate and rapid. Yet, the rapidity with which fear discrimination emerges remains unknown. Rapid fear discrimination in adulthood may be susceptible to impairment by adolescent heavy alcohol drinking, which increases incidence of anxiety disorders.
