Cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB<sub>1</sub>) is the principal target of Δ<sup>9</sup>-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a psychoactive chemical from Cannabis sativa with a wide range of therapeutic applications and a long history of recreational use.
