Crystal structure of tetra-aqua-bis-(pyrimidin-1-ium-4,6-diolato-?O⁴)manganese(II).

ABSTRACT: The Mn^II ion in the structure of the mononuclear title compound, [Mn(C₄H₃N₂O₂)₂(H₂O)₄], is situated on an inversion center and is coordinated by two O atoms from two deprotonated 4,6-di-hydroxy-pyrimidine ligands and by four O atoms from water mol-ecules giving rise to a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination sphere. The complex includes an intra-molecular hydrogen bond between an aqua ligand and the non-protonated N ring atom. The extended structure is stabilized by inter-molecular hydrogen bonds between aqua ligands, by hydrogen bonds between N and O atoms of the ligands of adjacent mol-ecules, and by hydrogen bonds between aqua ligands and the non-coordinating O atom of an adjacent mol-ecule.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric title compound, [Co(C4H11N2)2(H2O)4](SO4)2·2H2O, the Co(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by four water O atoms and two piperazinium N atoms. These four water O atoms define an equatorial plane with a maximum deviation of 0.0384 (1) Å while the two piperazinium N atoms complete the octa-hedron in the axial positions. Neighboring complex mol-ecules and sulfate anions are connected through an extensive network of N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which link the different chemical species into layers in the ab plane. Additional Owater-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the non-coordinating water mol-ecules and C-H⋯O inter-actions connect these layers into a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Li(4)(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(6)](n), comprises two Li(+) ions bridged by a completely deprotonated pyrimidine-3,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and coordinated by two water mol-ecules; the asymmetric units related by an inversion operation create a structural unit which forms part of a two-dimensional polymeric structure parallel to (10-1). One of the Li(+) ions shows a distorted tetra-hedral arrangement involving two symmetry-related coordinating water mol-ecules and two carboxyl-ate O atoms. The other Li(+) ion is in distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry defined by N and O atoms of the ligands and a water mol-ecule. Water O atoms are proton donors to carboxyl-ate O atoms forming hydrogen bonds.

The Mn(II) atom, located on an inversion center, shows a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry and is coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two 5-(pyridin-3-yl)tetra-zolide ligands occupying trans positions and four water mol-ecules. In the crystal, adjacent ions are linked by weak N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds involving the pyrimidine and amine N atoms, forming a three-dimensional network. Project description:In the title hydrated mixed-cation salt, (C(5)H(8)N(3))(2)[Co(H(2)O)(6)](SO(4))(2)·2H(2)O, the complete octa-hedral hexa-aqua complex cation is generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry. In the crystal, the components are linked by O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, the latter, involving pyrimidinium cations and sulfate anions, generating R(2) (2)(8) loops. These, together with π-π inter-actions between centrosymmetrically related pyrimidinium cations [centroid-centroid separation = 3.5460 (8) Å], lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

Project description:A nickel(II) terephthalate complex, viz. [Ni(C6H4N2)2(H2O)4](O2CC6H4CO2)·4H2O, has been synthesized and studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the triclinic space group P . The crystal structure shows an approximately octa-hedral coordination environment of the complex with the [Ni(H2O)4(3-NCpy)2]2+ (3-NCpy is pyridine-3-carbo-nitrile) cation associated with four free water mol-ecules and hydrogen bonded to a terephthalate dianion [graph set R 2 2(8)]. The supra-molecular structure of the compound is stabilized by a three-dimensional array of O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, along with π-π stacked pyridine-3-carbo-nitrile rings and C-H⋯O inter-actions.
