Copper (II)-doped semiconducting polymer dots for nitroxyl imaging in live cells.


ABSTRACT: The first nanoparticle-based fluorescent probe for the specific detection of nitroxyl (HNO) was designed and constructed by doping copper(II) into semiconducting polymer dots (Pdots). The probe turns on and fluoresces in the presence of HNO. We used the new sensor to monitor changes of HNO levels in live cells.
