Secondary phosphorylation develops in myocytes expressing phospho-mimetic cardiac troponin I (cTnI) but it is not known whether multiple substitutions (e.g. cTnISDTD and cTnIS4D) cause preferential phosphorylation of the remaining endogenous or the phospho-mimetic cTnI in intact myocytes.
