Severe Blastocystis subtype 3 infection in a patient with colorectal cancer.

ABSTRACT: Colorectal cancer (CRC), more of lifestyle-related disorder, is one of the deadliest types of cancer across the globe. Nevertheless, infectious agents could be responsible for 20% of cancer. Recent findings have indicated the association of Blastocystis in CRC and recommend routine screening for Blastocystis. Herein, we describe a case of CRC with severe Blastocystis infection.
