D-4F, an apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I) mimetic peptide, possesses distinctly anti-atherogenic effects. However, the biological functions and mechanisms of D-4F on the hyperplasia of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) remain unclear.
