Protein <i>N</i>-myristoylation enables localization to membranes and helps maintain protein conformation and function. <i>N</i>-myristoyltransferases (NMT) catalyze co- or posttranslational myristoylation of Src family kinases and other oncogenic proteins, thereby regulating their function.
