A new species of Hemerobiidae, <i>Wesmaelius makarkini</i> Yang, Pang & Ren, <b>sp. n.</b> is described from the Lower Miocene, Garang Formation of Zeku County, Qinghai Province (northeastern Tibetan Plateau), China. The species is assigned to the widely distributed extant genus <i>Wesmaelius</i> Krüger (Hemerobiinae).
