Rechargeable aluminum (Al) batteries are emerging as a promising post lithium-ion battery technology. Herein, we demonstrate a conceptually new design of rechargeable aluminum-selenium (Al-Se) batteries by understanding the selenium chemistry and controlling the electrode reaction.
