Foodborne pathogens, such as <i>Escherichia coli,</i> and <i>Salmonella</i>, are commonly prevalent in contaminated food products seen through annual food recalls. Excessive use of antibiotics through the past few decades has led to a multitude of antibiotic resistant bacteria, including foodborne pathogens.
