In this work, a series of novel benzyl naphthyl sulfoxides (sulfones) derived from Ex-RAD were designed and synthesized as potential radioprotective agents. Some of the compounds considerably protected HUVECs against <sup>60</sup>Co γ-irradiation, accompanied by the absence of cytotoxicity.
