A new genus, <i>Wuacanthus</i> Y.F. Deng, N.H. Xia & H. Peng (Acanthaceae), is described from the Hengduan Mountains, China. <i>Wuacanthus</i> is based on <i>Wuacanthus microdontus</i> (W.W.Sm.) Y.F. Deng, N.H. Xia & H. Peng, originally published in <i>Justicia</i> and then moved to <i>Mananthes</i>.
