Pulmonary arterial hypertension is a chronic and life-threatening disease that if left untreated is fatal. Current therapies include stimulating the nitric oxide-soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC)-cyclic guanosine monophosphate axis, improving the prostacyclin pathway and inhibiting the endothelin pathway.
