Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) encompasses a wide spectrum of morphologically and molecularly distinct (>10) cancer subtypes originated from the kidney epithelium. Metastatic RCC (mRCC) is lethal and refractory to conventional chemotherapeutic agents.
