Complete Genome Sequence of Potato Virus T from Bolivia, Obtained from a 33-Year-Old Sample.

ABSTRACT: We present the complete genomic sequence of a Potato virus T (PVT) isolate originally obtained from a Bolivian potato sample collected in 1976, and we compare it with the genome of the PVT type isolate from Peru. There is an 81% nucleotide identity between the two genomes of this Andean potato virus.

Project description:A complete coding sequence of the type strain of Andean potato mottle virus from Peru (isolate Lm) was obtained. Comparison of its RNA1 and RNA2 sequences with variants of this virus isolated in Brazil revealed RNA1 and RNA2 nucleotide identities of 81 to 83% and 70 to 71%, respectively.

Project description:We describe here the first genome sequence of Arracacha virus Y (ArVY) derived from an arracacha (Arracacia xanthorrhiza) sample originally collected in 1976 in Peru and compare it with other potyvirus genome sequences. It had a 79% nucleotide identity with a 2013 Brazilian Arracacha mottle virus (AMoV) sequence, suggesting that AMoV is ArVY.

Project description:In this study, we determined for the first time the complete genomic sequence of an Argentinian isolate of Potato leafroll virus (PLRV), the type species of the genus Polerovirus The isolate sequenced came from a Solanum tuberosum plant that had been naturally infected with the virus. Isolate PLRV-AR had a nucleotide sequence identity between 94.4 and 97.3% with several known PLRV isolates worldwide.

Project description:Pea early browning virus (PEBV) is transmitted by soil-inhabiting trichodorid nematodes and via seeds. The transcriptome sequencing method, followed by de novo assembly, revealed the PEBV Libyan isolate LyV66-91 genome. Its RNA1 resembled that of UK isolate SP5 with 93.91% nucleotide identity, and its RNA2 had 63.32% nucleotide identity to that of Dutch isolate E116.
