Alcohol-related liver disease (ARLD) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) are leading causes of chronic liver disease globally. Both ARLD and NAFLD are multifactorial and refer to a spectrum of disease severity, ranging from steatosis through steatohepatitis to fibrosis and cirrhosis.
