Cannabinoid receptor CB<sub>2</sub> (CB<sub>2</sub>R) is upregulated on activated microglia and astrocytes in the brain under inflammatory conditions and plays important roles in many neurological diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and ischemic stroke.
