Ubiquitin-mediated xenophagy, a type of selective autophagy, plays crucial roles in host defense against intracellular pathogens including Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). However, the exact mechanism by which host ubiquitin targets invaded microbes to trigger xenophagy remains obscure.
