Crystal structure of 4-(2-hy-droxy-3-meth-oxy-benzyl-amino)-benzoic acid di-methyl-formamide monosolvate monohydrate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C15H15NO4·C3H7NO·H2O, a secondary amine mol-ecule, is accompanied by one equivalent of water and one equivalent of di-methyl-formamide (DMF) as solvents. The mol-ecule is non-planar, with a Car-yl-CH2-NH-Car-yl torsion angle of -66.3?(3)°. In the crystal, O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the amine mol-ecules and the two types of solvent mol-ecule result in the formation of a layered structure extending parallel to (010).

Part of the mol-ecule (the salicylaldimine segment) is disordered over two sets of sites, with a refined site-occupancy ratio of 0.550?(14):0.450?(14). Intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds form S(6) ring motifs. In the crystal, pairs of O-H?O hydrogen bonds link mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers with R(2) (2)(8) ring motifs. The crystal packing also features C-H?? inter-actions.

The dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 3.05 (10)° and intra-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds generate S(6) and S(5) ring motifs, respectively. Project description:The title compound, C15H13BrN2O3·H2O, exists in an E conformation with respect to the azo-methane C=N double bond. The benzene and phenyl rings form dihedral angles of 0.46?(2) and 4.90?(3)°, respectively with the central C(=O)N2C unit. An intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, some hydrazide mol-ecules are replaced by mol-ecules of the 6-bromo isomer. The Br atom from this admixture was refined to give a partial occupancy of 0.0443?(19). A supra-molecular network is built in the lattice by means of inter-molecular N-H?O and two O-H?O inter-actions together with non-classical C-H?O inter-actions involving the lattice water mol-ecule stacking the mol-ecules along the b-axis direction.
