Crystal structure of hy-droxy scandium nitrate chloride.

ABSTRACT: Each Sc3+ ion in the title salt, di-?-hydroxido-bis-[tri-aqua-(nitrato-?2 O,O')scandium(III)] dichloride, [Sc2(NO3)2(OH)2(H2O)6]Cl2, is coordinated by a nitrate anion, two hydroxide ions and three water mol-ecules to generate a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal ScO7 coordination polyhedron. The complete {[(NO3)(?-OH)Sc(H2O)3]2}2+ ion is generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry. The nitrate anion binds in a bidentate fashion whereas the hydroxide ions are bridged between two Sc centers. Two charge-balancing Cl- ions are located in the outer sphere. In the extended structure, O-H?O and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds connect the components into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title mol-ecular salt, C14H22NO(+)·Cl(-), the pyrrolidinium ring adopts a twisted conformation about one of the N-C bonds. It is oriented at a dihedral angle of 42.0 (1)° with respect to the benzene ring. The torsion angle for the central N-C-C-Car (ar = aromatic) linkage is 163.74 (15)°. In the crystal, the components are linked via N-H⋯Cl and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming zigzig chains along the b-axis direction. These chains are connected along the c axis by very weak C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming a two-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Crystal structure of N-hy-droxy-picolinamide monohydrate.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, C6H6N2O2·H2O, consists of N-hy-droxy-picolinamide and water mol-ecules connected through O-H⋯O and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. The O-H⋯O inter-actions and π-π stacking inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.427 (1) Å] organize the components into columns extending along the b axis and the N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds link these columns into a two-dimensional framework parallel to (100). The N-hy-droxy-picolinamide mol-ecule adopts a strongly flattened conformation and only the O-H group H atom deviates significantly from the mol-ecule best plane. The dihedral angle between the hydroxamic group and the pyridine ring is 5.6 (2)°. The conformation about the hydroxamic group C-N bond is Z and that about the C-C bond between the pyridine and hydroxamic groups is E.

Project description:In the title benzohydrazide hydrate, C14H12N2O3·H2O, the dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 58.11 (6)° and the C=O and N-H groups adopt an anti orientation. The main twist in the mol-ecule occurs about the C(=O)-Car (ar = aromatic) bond, with an N-C(=O)-Car-Car torsion angle of -43.5 (2)°. In the crystal, the components are linked by N-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. These inter-actions generate [10-1] chains, with adjacent organic mol-ecules linked by inversion symmetry generating either pairs of N-H⋯O links [R 2 (2)(16) loops] or pairs of O-H⋯O links [R 2 (2)(20) loops]. Pairs of water mol-ecules are located in the R 2 (2)(20) loops and form their own O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds to adjacent organic mol-ecules in the chain. Finally, an inter-chain O-H⋯O hydrogen-bond link from the 4-hy-droxy group generates (010) sheets.

Project description:The title compound, C(10)H(10)NO(2) (+)·Cl(-), contains a quinoline ring system which is essentially planar, with the largest deviation from the mean plane being 0.017?(1)?Å. In the crystal, the ion pairs and their inversion-symmetry-related partners are linked by N-H?Cl and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds to form tetramers which are further connected through O-H?O hydrogen bonds, building infinite one-dimensional chains parallel to the [010] direction.

The hy-droxy O atom deviates from the heterocyclic ring by 1.422 (1) Å. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds generate R 2 (2)(12) loops. Project description:In the title salt, C(9)H(8)NO(+)·NO(3) (-), the quinoline ring system is essentially planar with a maximum deviation of 0.043?(1)?Å. In the crystal, an R(2) (2)(7) ring motif is formed by inter-molecular N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds between the cation and the anion. In addition, inter-molecular O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the two ions, generating an R(2) (2)(8) ring motif. These sets of ring motifs are further linked into a ribbon along the a axis via inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:Mutual carbox-yl-carboxyl O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules of the title compound, C7H5BrO3, into centrosymmetric dimers which display a central R 2 (2)(8) ring motif. In addition, there is an intra-molecular hydrox-yl-carboxyl O-H?O inter-action present. A comparison with the crystal structures of 59 other substituted derivatives of salicylic acid shows that both the centrosymmetric carbox-yl-carboxyl O-H?O dimer and the stacking mode of mol-ecules along the short a axis observed in the title structure are frequent packing motifs in this set.

Project description:The title compound, C10H8N2O2·H2O, consists of an N-hy-droxy-quinoline-2-carboxamide mol-ecule in the keto tautomeric form and a water mol-ecule connected through an O-H⋯O hydrogen bond. The N-hy-droxy-quinoline-2-carboxamide mol-ecule has a nearly planar structure [maximum deviation = 0.062 (1) Å] and only the hy-droxy H atom deviates significantly from the mol-ecule plane. Crystal structure of 3-bromo-2-hy-droxy-benzo-nitrile.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, C7H4BrNO, has been determined, revealing a partial mol-ecular packing disorder such that a 180° rotation of the mol-ecule about the phenol C-O bond results in disorder of the bromine and nitrile groups. The disorder has been parameterized as a disorder of only the bromine and nitrile substituents on a unique phenol ring. An intra-molecular O-H⋯Br contact occurs. In the crystal, O-H⋯Br/O-H⋯Nnitrile hydrogen bonding is present between the disordered bromine and nitrile substituents and the phenol group, forming a spiral chain about a twofold screw axis extending parallel to the b-axis direction. Within this spiral chain, the mol-ecules also inter-act, forming offset face-to-face π-stacking inter-actions with plane-to-centroid distance of 3.487 (1) Å.
