Dataset on synthesis and crystallographic structure of phenyl(TMP)iodonium(III) acetate.

ABSTRACT: The data in this article are related to research article ''Efficient N-arylation of azole compounds utilizing selective aryl-transfer TMP-iodonium (III) reagents (Koseki et al., 2019). For the title compound, phenyl(2,4,6-trimethoxyphenyl)iodonium(III) acetate (Ph(TMP)IOAc), the single-crystal X-ray diffraction measurement together with NMR analysis, like also the method of synthesis and crystallization are presented. The X-ray structure analysis has revealed that the two types of geometries regarding the acetate anion attached to phenyl (TMP)iodonium (III) cation are found in the crystal states.

Project description:Herein, we describe the synthesis of N-aryl phthalimides by metal-free coupling of potassium phthalimide with unsymmetrical aryl(TMP)iodonium tosylate salts. The aryl transfer from the iodonium moiety occurs under electronic control with the electron-rich trimethoxyphenyl group acting as a competent dummy ligand. The yields of N-aryl phthalimides are moderate to high and the coupling reaction is compatible with electron-deficient and sterically encumbered aryl groups.

Synthesis of (18)F-Arenes from Spirocyclic Iodonium(III) Ylides via Continuous-Flow Microfluidics.

Project description:Spirocyclic hypervalent iodine(III) ylides have proven to be synthetically versatile precursors for efficient radiolabelling of a diverse range of non-activated (hetero)arenes, highly functionalised small molecules, building blocks and radiopharmaceuticals from [(18)F]fluoride ion. Herein, we report the implementation of these reactions onto a continuous-flow microfluidic platform, thereby offering an alterative and automated synthetic procedure of a radiopharmaceutical, 3-[(18)F]fluoro-5-[(pyridin-3-yl)ethynyl]benzonitrile ([(18)F]FPEB) and a routinely used building block for click-radiochemistry, 4-[(18)F]fluorobenzyl azide. This new protocol was applied to the synthesis of [(18)F]FPEB (radiochemical conversion (RCC) = 68 ± 5%) and 4-[(18)F]fluorobenzyl azide (RCC=68 ± 5%; isolated radiochemical yield = 24±0%). We anticipate that the high throughput microfluidic platform will accelerate the discovery and applications of (18)F-labelled building blocks and labelled compounds prepared by iodonium ylide precursors as well as the production of radiotracers for preclinical imaging studies.

Synthesis and crystal structure of a new coordination polymer based on lanthanum and 1,4-phenyl-enedi-acetate ligands.

Project description:Reaction in gel between the sodium salt of 1,4-phenyl-enedi-acetic acid (Na2C10O4H8-Na2 p-pda) and lanthanum chloride yields single crystals of the three-dimensional coordination polymer poly[[tetra-aqua-tris-(μ-1,4-phenyl-enedi-acetato)-dilanthanum(III)] octa-hydrate], {[La2(C10H8O4)3(H2O)4]·8H2O}∞. The LaIII coordination polyhedron can be described as a slightly distorted monocapped square anti-prism. One of the two p-pda2- ligands is bound to four LaIII ions and the other to two LaIII ions. Each LaIII atom is coordinated by five ligands, thereby generating a metal-organic framework with potential porosity properties.

Efficient Pathway for the Preparation of Aryl(isoquinoline)iodonium(III) Salts and Synthesis of Radiofluorinated Isoquinolines.

Project description:Iodonium compounds play a pivotal role in (18) F-fluorination of radiopharmaceuticals containing non-activated arenes. However, preparation of these species is limited to oxidation conditions or exchange with organometallics that are prepared from aryl halides. Herein we describe a novel "one-pot" process to assemble aryl(isoquinoline)iodonium salts in 40-94?% yields from mesoionic carbene silver complex and Aryl-I-Py2 (OTf)2 . The method is general, practical, and compatible with well-functionalized molecules as well as useful for the preparation of a wide range of (18) F-labeled isoquinolines resulting in up to 92?% radiochemical conversion. As proof of concept, a fluorinated isoquinoline alkaloid, (18) F-aspergillitine is prepared in 10?% isolated radiochemical yield from the corresponding phenyl(aspergillitine)iodonium salt.

Synthesis and structure of ethyl 2-[(4-oxo-3-phenyl-3,4-di-hydro-quinazolin-2-yl)sulfan-yl]acetate.

Project description:The title compound, C18H16N2O3S, was synthesized by reaction of 2-mercapto-3-phenyl-quinazolin-4(3H)-one with ethyl chloro-acetate. The quinazoline ring forms a dihedral angle of 86.83?(5)° with the phenyl ring. The terminal methyl group is disordered by a rotation of about 60° in a 0.531?(13): 0.469?(13) ratio. In the crystal, C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions result in the formation of columns running in the [010] direction. Two parallel columns further inter-act by C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The most important contributions to the surface contacts are from H?H (48.4%), C?H/H?C (21.5%) and O?H/H?O (18.7%) inter-actions, as concluded from a Hirshfeld analysis.

Project description:The title compound, C17H17NO3, was synthesized, characterized by IR spectroscopy and its crystal structure was determined from single-crystal diffraction data. The asymmetric unit contains two mol-ecules, which adopt different conformations. In one mol-ecule, the acet-oxy and the terminal 2-methyl-phenyl groups are positioned on opposite sides of the plane formed by the central benzene ring, whereas in the other mol-ecule they lie on the same side of this plane. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked through strong N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into chains along [010]. Hirshfeld surface analysis and fingerprint plots were used to investigate the inter-molecular inter-actions in the solid state.

Project description:In the structure of the title salt, CH(6)N(3) (+)·C(8)H(7)O(2) (-), the guanidinium cation gives three cyclic hydrogen-bonding inter-actions with O-atom acceptors of three independent phenyl-acetate anions, one R(2) (2)(8) and two R(2) (1)(6), giving one-dimensional columnar structures which extend down the 4(2) axis in the tetra-gonal cell. Within these structures, there are solvent-accessible voids of volume 86.5?Å(3).

Project description:There are two 2-phenyl-imidazole cations and two acetate anions in the asymmetric unit of the title mol-ecular salt, C(9)H(9)N(2) (+)·C(2)H(3)O(2) (-). The dihredral angles between the five- and six-membered rings are 5.50 (2) and 6.90 (2)° in the two molecules. The structure is stabilized by N-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the cations and anions, resulting in chains propagating in [110].

Project description:A method for regio- and stereoselective anti-addition of the perfluoroalkyl and the triflate group of phenyl(perfluoroalkyl)iodonium triflates to alkynes is presented. The radical reaction uses cheap CuCl as a smart initiator and can be conducted in gram scale. The perfluoroalkyltriflated products are readily further functionalized, rendering this transformation valuable.
