<i>Streptococcus pyogenes</i> (Group A streptococcus; GAS) is a human pathogen causing diseases from uncomplicated tonsillitis to life-threatening invasive infections. GAS secretes EndoS, an endoglycosidase that specifically cleaves the conserved <i>N</i>-glycan on IgG antibodies.
