Sequential, within-season infection with influenza A (H3N2) in a usually healthy vaccinated child.


ABSTRACT: Cocirculation of varying influenza types, strains, and lineages allows coinfection and intra-season sequential infection, although a same-strain sequential infection has not been previously described. This case report describes the first known case of sequential laboratory-confirmed influenza A (H3N2) infections in a child within one season.
