Class switch recombination (CSR) is a DNA recombination reaction that diversifies the effector functions of antibodies. CSR occurs via the formation and non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) repair of programmed DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) at the immunoglobulin heavy chain locus.
