TRIM71/LIN-41, a phylogenetically conserved regulator of development, controls stem cell fates. Mammalian TRIM71 exhibits both RNA-binding and protein ubiquitylation activities, but the functional contribution of either activity and relevant primary targets remain poorly understood.
