Enteroviruses (family <i>Picornaviridae</i>) comprise a large group of human pathogens against which no licensed antiviral therapy exists. Drug-repurposing screens uncovered the FDA-approved drug fluoxetine as a replication inhibitor of enterovirus B and D species.
