Herein, recent progress in the field of tin oxide (SnO<sub>2</sub> )-based nanosized and nanostructured materials as conversion and alloying/dealloying-type anodes in lithium-ion batteries and beyond (sodium- and potassium-ion batteries) is briefly discussed.
