The human DNA tumor viruses Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), and human papillomavirus (HPV) share the common property of persisting as multicopy episomes in the nuclei of rapidly dividing host cells.
