Chlorophyll breakdown is a vital catabolic process of leaf senescence as it allows the recycling of nitrogen and other nutrients. In the present study, we isolated rice senescence-induced receptor-like kinase (<i>OsSRLK</i>), whose transcription was upregulated in senescing rice leaves.
