Draft Genome Sequence of Microbacterium oryzae Strain MB-10, Isolated from a Rice Field in India.

ABSTRACT: We report the draft genome sequence of Microbacterium oryzae strain MB-10T, which was isolated from rice field soil. The genome is 3.04?Mb, with a G+C content of 71.10%, and encodes 2,727 proteins. The genome sequence provides further information about strain MB-10T and the genus Microbacterium.

Draft genome sequence data of Microbacterium sp. strain Be9 isolated from uranium-mill tailings porewaters.

Project description:Microbacterium are Gram-positive, nonspore-forming, rod-shaped bacteria inhabiting a wide range of environments including soil, water, dairy products, other living organisms, etc. Microbacterium sp. strain Be9, isolated from mill tailings porewaters in France, shows a remarkable behavior in presence of uranium under distinct conditions, which is the main reason for the interest in sequencing its genome. In this work, we describe the draft genome sequence of Be9, comprising 4,046,806 bp, with a G+C content of 68.10% and containing 3,947 protein-coding sequences. The preliminary genome annotation analysis identified some genes encoding for resistance to antibiotics and toxic compounds like heavy metals. This draft genome has been deposited at DDBJ/ENA/GenBank under the accession PRJNA590666.

Genome analysis of rice-blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae field isolates from southern India.

Project description:The Indian subcontinent is the center of origin and diversity for rice (Oryza sativa L.). The O. sativa ssp. indica is a major food crop grown in India, which occupies the first and second position in area and production, respectively. Blast disease caused by Magnaporthe oryzae is a major constraint to rice production. Here, we report the analysis of genome architecture and sequence variation of two field isolates, B157 and MG01, of the blast fungus from southern India. The 40 Mb genome of B157 and 43 Mb genome of MG01 contained 11,344 and 11,733 predicted genes, respectively. Genomic comparisons unveiled a large set of SNPs and several isolate specific genes in the Indian blast isolates. Avr genes were analyzed in several sequenced Magnaporthe strains; this analysis revealed the presence of Avr-Pizt and Avr-Ace1 genes in all the sequenced isolates. Availability of whole genomes of field isolates from India will contribute to global efforts to understand genetic diversity of M. oryzae population and to track the emergence of virulent pathotypes.

The whole-genome sequence of S. daejeonensis strain NLF4-10 was analyzed using the Pacific Biosciences Sequel and Illumina NovaSeq sequencing platforms. The genome comprises a 3,655,148 bp chromosome with a GC content of 68%, 3,274 coding DNA sequences (CDSs), 59 transfer RNAs (tRNAs), and 4 noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs).
