MiR-34a and miR-16 coordinately control cell cycle checkpoint in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells. In cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) cells miR-16 regulates a switch between apoptosis and senescence, however the role of miR-34a in this process is unclear.
